new journal
Today was my birthday and it was a lovely day. I took the rest the week off from work and hosted my own mini art retreat. I started working on a new journal. I signed up for Mary Ann Moss's Remains of the Day journal class. It is very well organized and easy to follow. Today I mostly worked on the cover. I love the way it is coming together and I really love the Echino fabric. Tomorrow, I plan to work on pages and binding.

I love holidays
I love having time to play. Since the start of Christmas break I have made two quilts and I plan to start another. I just need to pick fabrics and to start cutting. I also am making a collection of fabric bowls for my sewing room and I hope to have photos tomorrow.
I also finished this cute little pin cushion. I bought a kit for it almost a year ago. I really love doing the wool appliqué and embroidery. I have more wool so I will need to come up with something on my own. I have an idea... I would like to make a case for my embroidery
scissors. So many things to do and make.... Oh happy days...

starting new page
I have been going through many of my half started art journals and I have been painting over the bits I hated or never finished...
It feels good, like a fresh start.

Stitch one...
one of new favorite things... Quilting on my sewing machine. I learned to quilt from my grandmothers when I was young. It did not occur to me until very recently that I love quilting! I even taught a friend to quilt a few years back. I started a baby quilt for a friend last weekend and I am obsessed... buying fabrics, building a stash, finding books and blogs... I spent almost no time with my poor neglected camera...
